Hi guys, Sorry for the late announcement, but this coming Wednesday (March 11th) will be kata training session. Please make sure to bring along your bokken. However, the Beginner course will run its regular session, therefore, beginner course members please bring along your shinai (if you have already purchased one from the club by then).
Hi all, Please be noted that March the 9th Labour Day is not an university holiday (though it is a public holiday), so training at 7:30pm-9:30pm will run as usual. Yay 😀 ! committee
Hi all, There will be a volunteers briefing for AKC on next Saturday (14th March). If you have previously submitted your name to volunteer at the event, please make sure you attend this briefing as you will be given important information and learn more about your roles throughout AKC. Hi all, Gradings for 1kyu and dan levels will be held at Kenshikan Dojo on March 22nd. If you are intending on grading please let the committee know via email no later than 16th March. It is with sadness to advise that Mrs Dianne Hughes (Rixon) passed away on 2 July 2014. Dianne was central to a great Australian Kendo dynasty that included her brothers Edward (Ted), Paul and her former husband, Warren Hughes. Dianne was a multiple time Australian Women’s Kendo Champion, winning the title at the 9th Australian Kendo Championships, 1984 in Canberra and again at the 12th AKC held in Cowra in 1987.
