VKR Team selection process Sunday 4 February

To All VKR Kendo Clubs:

The VKR Team selection process will take place at the Kenshikan, on Sunday 4 February starting at 1:00 pm.

The expected program is:

1:00 Kata selection demonstration

1:15 Kata selectors confer, Kendo Warm-ups begin

1:45 Kendo Shia commences

2:45 Kendo selectors confer

3:15 Kata Pair and Kendo Team announced

Of course this is subject to change depending on how things unfold during the day.

The shinpan and selectors who will officiate in the selection process are:

Kata: Shinpan/selectors: Senseis Yano (Kyoshi 7 Dan), Szwarcbord (Kyoshi 7 Dan), Macak (Renshi 6 Dan)

Kendo: Shinpan: Senseis Szwarcbord (Kyoshi 7 Dan), Sheppard (6 Dan), Teoh (5 Dan), Matsumoto (5 Dan), Jeong (5 Dan), Kimura (5 Dan)

Selectors: Senseis Yano (Kyoshi 7 Dan), Smith (Renshi 6 Dan), Maksay (6 Dan), Wright (5 Dan – Coach), Sugimoto (5 Dan – Asst Coach)

The upcoming Kendo Gradings will be held on the following dates:

6th Kyu – 3rd Kyu Grading – Sunday March 4 @ Kenshikan, West Melbourne
2nd Kyu – 4th Dan Grading – Sunday March 18 @ Kenshikan, West Melbourne

Deadline for 6th Kyu – 3rd Kyu Grading Registration – Friday February 16
Deadline for 2nd Kyu – 4th Dan Grading Registration – Friday March 2

Dear VKR Club Delegates,

Our first delegates meeting of the year will be held on Saturday February 17 12:00pm . Please note the change of day to Saturday, as Sundays are unavailable that month.
As usual, if you are unable to attend please consider arranging someone to attend in your place to represent your club’s voice, or send in a notice of apology.

Fwd: AKR National Executive Committee Election

Dear AKR Members,

Complying with section 7.3 of the AKR Constitution, 2018 is an election year for the National Executive Committee.

All Executive Committee positions are open for nomination.

Existing and former members may also be nominated for the election.

Attached is the instructions and the form to use to nominate candidates.

Preamble:
The management and control of the AKR is vested in the National Executive Committee, consisting of four National Officers. The National Executive Committee is responsible for the day to day administration of the Renmei on a National level and the implementation of AKR National Council decisions. The National Executive Committee provides leadership and support for the Boards and the Affiliated State Bodies

Criteria
All Ordinary Affiliate Members who are members of an Affiliated Body are eligible for election to the Executive Committee.

Timeline
Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday 28 February 2018.

All nominations must have a seconder and include the acceptance of the member being nominated.

The election to fill the vacancies will be conducted at the AKR Annual General Meeting, scheduled to commence at 1:30pm on Friday 30 March 2018 in Sydney, NSW. Only State Delegates and Board Chairpersons are eligible to vote.

Fwd: ELECTION RESULT: Iaido & Jodo Board – 2018-2012

Complying with section 8.4 and 8.6 of the AKR Constitution, elections were held for both the AKR Iaido and AKR Jodo Boards.

Fwd: Kendo Board 2018-2021: Nomination of candidates for election [Deadline: 23 Feb]

Dear AKR Kendo Members,

Complying with section 8.2 of the AKR Constitution, 2018 is a Kendo Board election year.

All Board positions will be vacated at the conclusion of the 43rd AKC and related events on 4 April 2018.

Existing and former members may be nominated for the election.

Attached is the form to use to nominate candidates, for the election.

Each AKR art Board is made up of 5 members representing that art. Elected Board positions are for a THREE year term. Tasks include facilitating, attending and contributing to the management of AKR kendo, iaido or jodo seminars, championships and dan grade exams.

Criteria
All Ordinary Affiliate Members who are members of an Affiliated Body representing Kendo exponents are eligible for election to the Kendo Board. Self-nomination is permitted.

Timeline
Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 pm on 23 February 2015.

All nominations must have a seconder and also the acceptance of the member being nominated.

Photo & Short Resume
All Nominees are to send separately a face photo and short resume of their AKR & AKR affiliate activity for publication to members, prior to the nomination cut off date by email to akrsecretary@kendoaustralia.asn.au.

The election to fill the vacancies will be conducted by postal vote in mid March 2018. The details will be announced after nominations are received.
